This paper presents the topology of a multimedia tourism service that targets mobile devices equipped with broadband and either multicast or broadcast access capabilities. Multicast / Broadcast access is used to handle the delivery of multimedia data to many simultaneous users in the service area. The solution adopted is based on existing standards for mobile TV services, but introducing features that enable the provision of generic multimedia services on top of mobile hybrid broadband and broadcast networks. In this paper we discuss the possibilities and limitations of existing and emerging mobile technologies and methodologies for porting information and functionality from traditional PCs to mobile devices and vice versa. This study compares two alternative ways to organize links as navigation elements in mobile banking applications. For the comparison, two alternative banking applications were tested. The applications that were tested had the same content but different ways to navigate with links. One of them provided a system where the user was required to use specific menu pages for navigation and where there were no cross-navigation enabling links on content pages. This article presents mobile encounter networks, which emerge when mobile devices come across each other and form a temporary connection between them using a common short-range radio technology. Local information exchanges between mobile devices results in a broadcast diffusion of information to other users of the network with a delay.
